Terms of Service
Effective 26 May 2026
These terms are the agreement between you (“the host”, “you”) and BoostMyStore Ltd, trading as Hostcation (“we”, “us”), when you use hostcation.com and the services we provide there. By signing up you accept these terms.
1. What Hostcation is
Hostcation gives short-term-rental hosts a direct-booking website plus a host dashboard. We build the site from your existing listing, connect it to your own Stripe account so guest payments go directly to you, and sync your iCal feeds so blocked dates stay accurate. We are not a travel agent, OTA or property manager — we're a software service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter contracts. You must have the right to market the properties you list with us. You must comply with all local laws and licensing rules for short-term lets where your property is located.
3. Payment terms
- Plans are £15/month (monthly billing) or £120/year (annual billing) per property, plus VAT where applicable.
- Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial. We collect card details at signup, but don't charge during the trial.
- Cancel any time before the trial endsfrom your settings page or the Stripe billing portal — we won't charge you.
- After the trial, the plan you picked auto-renews until you cancel. Annual plans renew yearly; monthly plans renew monthly.
- If a payment fails we'll retry over a few days and email you. If it still fails, we pause the site until billing is resolved.
- You can cancel any time. We don't refund partial months or unused portions of an annual plan unless the law requires us to.
4. Booking payments and Stripe Connect
Guest payments are processed by Stripe and go directly to your own Stripe account. We never hold guest funds. Stripe's own terms apply to your use of their service.
You're responsible for delivering the stay you advertise on your site, for honouring your cancellation policy, and for any refunds owed to guests.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Market properties you don't have the right to let.
- List anything illegal, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Try to break, probe, or overload our infrastructure.
- Resell or sublicense the Hostcation service.
- Use the service to spam or harass guests.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, with notice where reasonably possible.
6. Your content stays yours
You own everything you bring to Hostcation — listing copy, photos, guest data, your domain, your Stripe account, your bookings. You grant us a limited licence to host and display that content so we can run the service for you. We don't use it for anything else.
The Hostcation software, designs, brand and templates remain ours. You get a licence to use them for as long as you have an active subscription.
7. Availability and warranties
We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee the service is uninterrupted or error-free. The service is provided “as-is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that can't be excluded under English law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Limit of liability
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the fees you've paid us in the 12 months immediately before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost bookings, or lost goodwill.
9. Termination
You can close your account any time from settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We can terminate with reasonable notice, or immediately if you materially breach these terms.
On termination we'll keep your account data only for as long as we need to for legal, tax and accounting reasons (see our Privacy Policy).
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we'll email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance of the new terms.
11. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales, save that consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where they live.
Before suing anyone, please email hello@hostcation.com. Most things can be sorted out in a friendly conversation.
