About the numbers

Enter your booked nights per year and your average nightly rate. We multiply the two to estimate your booking revenue, then compare what your chosen platform's effective fee would take against Hostcation's flat cost: £10 per property per month on the annual plan, 0% booking commission, plus standard UK Stripe card-processing fees of about 1.5% + 20p per transaction. All the assumptions stay visible on screen as you move the sliders.
Airbnb defaults to an effective 18.6% (the 15.5% host-only fee plus 20% UK VAT for hosts who aren't VAT-registered) — tick "I'm VAT-registered" to drop it to 15.5%, since that VAT is reclaimable. Booking.com defaults to about 17% (roughly 15% commission plus card processing). Vrbo defaults to about 8% (roughly 5% host commission plus about 3% payment processing). You can also set your own rate on the "Other / custom" option.
